It's official! I'm 0 weeks today!

This will be a TMI post.  Giving you a fair warning before you read any farther!

I've been spotting ALL day.  I am getting really impatient with AF.  I wish it would just start already so I can get my appointment scheduled.  I really wanted it on Friday but it looks like it will be on Monday.

I am really hoping to get some answers at this appointment, so I think that's why I'm getting impatient.  Plus I'm ready to get this show on the road again!  It's been so odd not being at the doctor's office every couple of days.  I'm just really hoping one of our last two chances work!  Here's to a summer 2012 baby!  (I hope I didnt just jinx myself!)

Give me a break!

I've enjoyed taking a break this cycle.  It has been nice to not keep track of what CD I'm on.  I've been keeping track of my cycles since the beginning of the year.  Before we started the study, I took my BBT every morning before getting out of bed.  Then once the study started I had to give my self shots and had multiple doctor's appointments, so I always knew what CD I was on.  I'm sure I'll start Monday or Tuesday.  I'll be sure to post how the next appointment goes, I sure hope we get some answers.  Shawn will not be going to another Urologist for now due to some insurance reasons but that may change in the future.  If the last two cycles dont work I'm sure we'll be looking into that before anything else.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy anniversary to the best husband a girl can have!  It's so hard to believe it's already been three years since we said "I do"!  We have already been through a lot and there is much more to come in the years ahead!

10 year High School Reunion

Since I won't be updating it with fertility stuff this month, I decided to blog about other stuff!

I can't believe it's been 10 years since I graduated high school!  I enjoyed spending the weekend with old friends and getting to see everyone.  It went pretty much as I had expected.

Friday night the reunion got started out at Ody's (a bar) and the boys succeded in getting drunk.  And it wasnt even their reunion.  The best turn out of all the events was this night!

Saturday afternoon was a picnic but we missed it.  Instead we had lunch with Rach and Steve at Enrique's and then explored the Marland Mansion.  It's been a long time since I've been in that place!

Saturay evening we had dinner at the Rusty Barrel with Jamie, Jason, Rach, and Steve.  Then we went on to the dance at the Country Club.  I felt that this event was a dud.  I had expected some "games" like "who came the farthest", "who's been married the longest" and "who has the most kids".  None of that was done.  Just a lot of mingling and talking amongst ourselves.

Short LP

You may be asking what a short LP (luteal phase) means, well I did some research and found out for myself!  The LP is the time between ovulation and when your period starts.  The LP is usually 14 days long but can range from 12-16 days and is always the same length every cycle.

If it's too short (less than 10 days), that means your body doesnt produce enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy.  In other words, conception may occur but implantation can not occur, so bye-bye fertalized egg causing you troubles with getting pregnant!  Implantation can occur 6-12 days after ovulation, so as you can see if the LP is too short then implantation is not possible.

The normal treatment for a short LP is a progesterone cream or suppository.  You start using the progesterone after ovulation and through the beginning of your pregnancy.  I'm hoping this is what I need to get pregnant but wont find out the plan till the next cycle!

Looking back over my past BBT (basal body temp) charting, it looks like this may have been part of the reason for us not getting pregnant.  That and the low sperm count doesnt help either!

I hope you guys learned something today!

No answers

Thought I would get some answers when I went in this morning but all I left with was a cottonball on my arm.  The nurse thinks that my cycles are too short but has not been able to talk to the doctor yet.  And since I'm sitting this cycle out I'm sure I wont hear anything until the start of my next cycle.  I just wish I could get answers about what's going on!

Too short

Two posts in one day!  You guys must be lucky!

Of course the minute I set my phone down to go to the bathroom I get my callback.  I listened to my message and I will be keeping my appointment for Monday.  We'll do the baseline labs and ultrasound and discuss my cycles because they seem to be shorter than they want them to be.  I'll probably bring my temp charts from the end of December to May with me, just in case I need them.  Looking over them, it looks like my LP has always been too short.  I wonder what will happen now.   I also will need to let them know we will have to sit this cycle out...I hope that's still ok.  I was told it would be at my last appointment.

Taking a break

Still no baby this time.  Starting spotting yesterday and woke up to AF in full force!  I'm glad it started at home and not while I'm at work this weekend but I wish it would have just stayed away.

We still have two more IUIs with the study but will be taking a break this cycle because of my high school reunion.  I'm pretty sure if I did another IUI this cycle, the timing will be smack dab in the middle of my reunion.

I had always thought that I would have a kid or at least be pregnant by my 10 year reunion.  But look at how wrong I was!  I guess the birght side is that I wont have to worry about AF that weekend.

I am so glad that there are still people out there that I will be pregnant by the end of this study because I am starting to lose it.  There doesnt seem to be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Right now I'm just waiting for the doctor's office to call back to see if I will keep my appointment for Monday or if I need to go in earlier.

Blah...

I ovulated!

I had my one week post IUI appointment this morning.  I snuck over there during work and it was busy this time!  It took a little longer to get in but I was still back to work by 8am.

They did an ultrasound.  Not sure what they were looking for, even the doctor thought that this ultrasound was a little pointless.  I also had some blood drawn.  My progesterone level showed that I ovulated.  Hopefully a sperm made it to an egg!

My next appointment is scheduled for next Monday and afterwards I'm going to check out our new outlet mall in the city!  That is as long as AF doesnt show up before then.  I decided no peeing on sticks this round because that tends to make AF come a little early.  I've decided that my body thinks that sees that I'm not pregnant so why wait the full amount of time before AF.

If this round doesnt work, we're taking a break for the next cycle.  I have my 10 yr high school reunion to go to in a few weeks and I'm afraid that an IUI will interfer with it.
