Ovulation bleeding

I learned something new this week. Ovulation bleeding! Who knew that was such a thing. This week I spotted Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and I was supposed to ovulate around Friday. So I consulted Dr. Google and he told me that ovulation bleeding real and a rare sign of fertility.

I wonder if it's because I started taking B6 this cycle. That's only thing different this cycle other than no fertility treatments.

Who knows. I just wanted to share my lesson or this week.

Wasting time

It feels kinda odd not going to the doctor every couple of days.  I feel like I'm wasting time too.  I wish there was a simple fix but there's not.  And it's definitely not going to be cheap either!

I've started taking B6 last week.  I'm hoping it will lengthen my luteal phase (LP) since I think it's a little short.  I should probably start temping again so I know when I ovulated, so I can tell if it worked.

I'm hoping Shawn can come to the consult appointment.  He has already asked me if he needs to be there.  I know it's highly encouraged and I'm pretty sure the doctor will want us both there, so we will both hear the options from him and not me relaying them back.  I also want him there so he can ask questions and have a second set of hears.  Plus, what if the doctor asks me something about Shawn that I will not be able to answer?
I mentioned to Shawn the other day that I was going to ask for a Urology consult.  A coworker mentioned last week that OU Medical is #1 in Urology and on the way out she pointed out the sign saying so.  I'm pretty sure the Urologist who checked Shawn out last year was a nutjob just like the Reproductive Endocrinologist.  Why would you wait till our third and final semen analysis to tell us the sperm stick together and then tell us you're done with us and give us no explanation.

I also mentioned to another coworker, who has had infertility issues, that our original RE had told us "see you in a year" after a year of trying.  And after doing more browsing online I found out that it is considered infertility for a couple under 35 years old and have been trying for one year and if the couple is over 35 years it's only six months.  I knew this before going to the doctor last year but I just thought he knows what he's talking about and went with it.  I know I have mentioned this before and will probably talk about it again but I am beyond frustrated about.  Look at the year I wasted!  But I am glad we didnt do anything then because I wouldn't have been able to do the study.

This afternoon I was reading my Redbook that came in the mail last week.  As I was flipping through it I was excited to see an article on infertility and why it's still taboo even though 1 in 8 couples are dealing with it.  In the middle of this article was an ad for a pregnancy test.  All I could think was REALLY?!?!  You're going to place that ad there?!?!  I dont think it was very classy or smart of Redbook but who am I to decide that stuff?  Let's just say I decided not to finish reading that article because of some idiot who thought it would be smart to place a pregnancy test ad in the middle of an article about infertility.
Anyways...I've been keeping busy around here with a few craft projects.  Maybe I should turn this blog into a craft blog...

Kicked off the study

I had my final appointment.  I had told myself I wouldnt cry and of course I did because the lady would not stop talking and trying to support me.  I just dont want to talk right now...maybe next week.  Had the last of the blood drawn.  I also scheduled a consult.  I was told we wouldnt get in until January, which I'm fine with because our new insurance doesnt kick in until November.  I get up to the front and I was able to get in on the November 13 but since I work that day I scheduled it for the 16th.  It will be here before I know it!

I also found out who's patient I am and it wasnt the doctor I originally consulted with.  LOL  It's been the doctor I've been seeing a lot of.  But that may be changing again.  It really doesnt matter to me who I see because I like both of them.

Not sure when I'll post next.  It might not be until after the next appointment or it might be before.

My prayer

Please God help me understand why things happen the way they do and please help me to be patient because You and only You know the perfect plan for me.  I dont understand Your timing and never will.  Amen

Dreading tomorrow

Tomorrow will be the day that AF has decided to visit during the last three IUI cycles.  Now can you see WHY I'm dreading this day?  I cant believe it's already here!

I mentioned that to one of the girls at work today and she asked if I work tomorrow.  I am so thankful that I dont work tomorrow or Saturday!  If AF shows up I will start crying and not sure if I will be able to stop, like I have been able to previously.  It's been a trend that I start while at work, which is definitely not fun!

I know the progesterone is supposed to lengthen my cycle.  I just hope and pray that it does it's job and I'm pregnant!

If you can, please say extra prayers tonight and this weekend for me!

Good lining

Apparently I make good line. Once again she thinks I'm pregnant because my lining is nice and thick. My blood did show that I definitely ovulated and I have a good progesterone level.

The progesterone gel has been interesting. That's all I'm going to say about that!

Please keep praying or whatever you do that this IUI has worked!

Two week wait

Shawn's count this morning was 1.7 million.  Not as good as last time but much better than the 2nd time!  This time she had issues getting the speculum in but that's because it cant be lubed up.  Holy cow did it hurt!  Thankfully she was able to put some water on it.  Then she had issues getting through the cervice because it decided not to be straight.  It was the most painful IUI yet, I felt like I was being tortured.  Hopefully it works this time because I had an all RN team this time.  I also got progesterone gel that I get to use every morning.  I'm sure I'll be sharing that TMI after my dose in the morning.

Please keep praying this final cycle will work!

The shot

Shawn gave me the shot last night. I iced the spot for about 30 minutes before hand so it was nice and numb. The shot was done and out before I even realized but definitely sore today!

Let's pray this works tomorrow!

Three should ovulate

My appointment went well this morning. Looks like three follicles will ovulate this time. I will be doing the HCG shot tonight at 11 and the IUI Monday morning at 11.

I was hoping that one if my nurse friends could give me the shot tonight but it's kinda late and the other was cancelled from work. I do have someone else at work that will give it if Shawn chickens out. He wasn't too big on the idea this morning but he seemed really excited about it this afternoon. At least I have a sheet this time explaining how to give. I'm sure it won't be a problem.
