She's hopeful!
I had my one week post IUI appointment bright and early this morning. Had some blood drawn and of course my vein had to be crappy and not bleed, so I got poked twice! My ultrasound showed a nice thick lining and the doctor was hopeful that this was it! My next appointment is on Sunday morning. I'm hoping they will tell me I'm pregnant! Hopefully I dont find out early that I'm not.

The best count yet!
Today was another early day! We had to get up at 6a because Shawn's boys needed to be there at 7a. After we dropped them off we ate at Beverly's across from Baptist.
This time we didn't have to wait very long before it was our turn. The doctor came in and told us our count 2.7 million. That's three times higher than last time and about one million higher than the first! (Five days of abstaining paid off) This time my bladder wasn't as full either but I was told that was actually good thing since my bladder is retroverted.
This morning I've been lounging around the house and when we get back he this evening we'll be BDing again.
Next appointment is next Monday and then another one the Monday after.
Pray that the third times a charm!

Giving this a try
I'm trying out the new Blogger app and posting from my phone today.
Went to my appointment this morning and it looks like I have two follicles that are ready. I had them give me the trigger shot this morning and we will hopefully be making a baby tomorrow.

Happy birthday to me!
This morning I had to get up bright and early on my birthday for my appointment at 8:35. I was actually going to be a few minutes early but of course the earlier I leave the worse traffic is. At least this time I was right on time!
I have had awful experiences in the waiting room. One time there was a woman making a big deal about bringing in her husbands sample and then forgetting to sign in, and then she got on her phone and talked about how she was always at the doctor's office. Luckily, I've never seen her again. Today there was an out of control toddler. He was banging on stuff, moving chairs around, trying to go in with other patients, and just doing whatever he pleased and the parents were stopping him. Then when I was getting my ultrasound done we could hear him screaming and throwing a fit in another room. This is not the type of doctors office you should be bringing kids, especially ones like this! I really hope I dont run into them again!
Anyways...I have 2 follicles on each side that are going like they should. My next appointment is on Saturday. IUI should be Sunday or Monday. We're hoping it will be Sunday since we both work Monday and I dont really want to deal with work.
I almost forgot to mention my blood draw this morning. It was AWFUL! I have never had this much trouble! She put the tourniquet on so tight that my arm immediately turned purple and was sore. She had issues getting the needle in the vein because it kept "rolling" and when she finally got it it was super SLOW! I am surprised I dont have a bruise from this poke but it is really sore.
My shot tonight will be interesting. We have season tickets to OSU football, so we'll be at the game when it's time to do my shot. I will be sneaking in the bathroom around 8:30 and hopefully it will be empty.
I will update again on Saturday with our game plan!

Not so bad
Started the shots of "purified urine from post menopausal women" again. That's what I have been calling it all weekend at work. And, yes, it still grosses me out...the things we have to go through to try to have a baby! Crazy!
Anyways...the poking went well. Wasnt too bad getting the needle in but the medication BURNED! Yuck! I think I deserve more Sonic!

The new Breast Cancer Awareness "game"
I can honestly say I've never played any of these "games". I never saw the point or even how they helped Breast Cancer Awareness. The newest one has newest one has made me hurt!
The first status I was "I'm four weeks and craving double chocolate chip cookies" and I thought to myself, that's nice she's pregnant and also wished that it could be me. But then I started seeing several of my friends with a similar status and realized it had to be a game.
I was going to just keep quiet about it until I read another blog and realized I was not alone. I know people need to be aware of Breast Cancer but people need to be aware of Infertility too. Infertility is something that is always kept hush hush and you have to carry the burden alone or with very little support. Yes, it's sad, and yes, it's hard to deal with but I need a support system, too. Everyone going through this needs a support system, more than just their significant other (who is dealing with the same thing).
I remember one time when someone asked me when were going to have kids. This had been after we had seen the first RE, so I started in on how we had been trying for so long and recently seen a doctor about. As soon as I said how long we had been trying she closed her ears and didnt want to hear anymore. She made it very clear I was not to talk to her about my Infertility. Now when someone asks I'm afraid to give my answer. I would love to be able to tell my story and make people aware that Infertilty is a real issue but I'm afraid at the same time.
I am also tired of hearing:
"Just relax, it'll happen"
"Drink the water, everyone's pregnant here" (everyone but me is pregnant)
"Doesnt he already has kids" (true, but we would like our own too)
"We're not preventing but not trying and got pregant the first month" (good for you)
"It'll happen when you're not trying so hard"
"So and so was trying to 'X' years and once they stopped they have 'X' amount of kids" (and that helps me, how?)
And many more phrases that are supposed to be uplifing. I just smile and nod and think to myself that they dont understand this battle.
Wow, I cant belive I wrote all this when I just wanted to "vent" about the new Facebook "game". If you're still reading, I'm surprised you made it this far and I think I will just stop now!

On to Round 3
Today is CD2. I went in for my baseline labs and ultrasound. I also found out that my LP is not too short. They looked back and saw that it fell in the normal range of 12-14 days. I will be starting my meds on Sunday and my next appointment will be Thursday (my bday).
Edit: I got the call. I will be taking 2.5 vials again. Did I ever mention that I HATE shots?
